Mollie Macarthy-Openshaw, owner of Mood Swing Wines, is a Chico local through and through. She attended Chico High School, graduating in 1981, and went on to earn her nursing degree in 1989. Choosing to stay in Chico, she raised her three beautiful children, Shyla, Hunter, and Mallory. As the kids grew up Mollie enjoyed her career as a nurse. (Nowadays, the kids are all grown and out of the house, but random trips to raid mom’s fridge and do laundry keep them all connected.)

With Mollie’s success with Mood Swing Wines came a sense of wanting to give back. Watching girlfriends battle breast cancer and ultimately losing several of these close friends inspired Mollie to make a difference. With that, Mollie and her dear friend Tracie, a breast cancer survivor, began Project Hope of Butte County together. These two friends came together to bring Project Hope Butte County to life, an organization that provides financial assistance and support to those affected by breast cancer.
